About Dr. Sarah Anolik

I am a licensed clinical psychologist providing psychotherapy to adolescents and adults of all ages.  As a generalist, I work with a wide range of presenting problems and issues (trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, etc.).  I have specialty working with healthcare professionals and students, as well as issues related to cancer and the perinatal period (infertility, PPD, traumatic birth, and the NICU experience for both moms and dads).

After working for years in the corporate sector, I completed a masters in social and organizational psychology at Columbia University and received my doctorate of psychology (PsyD) from James Madison University.  I completed my internship at Pennsylvania Hospital/the University of Pennsylvania Health System, where I stayed to complete a postdoctoral fellowship.  Outside of clinical work, I teach as an Adjunct Professor at Thomas Jefferson University in the Department of Psychology and Biopsychology. I also continue my professional development through coursework at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia (PCOP).  A native of the Philadelphia suburbs, I returned to Philadelphia in 2020 after living in New York City and Virginia.

My previous work experience includes the provision of a range of therapeutic interventions and services in various settings.  I have five years of experience providing general outpatient psychotherapy to individuals and families in community mental health clinics (including two years of telehealth).  During my predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship, I gained more specialty working with cancer patients through the psycho-oncology program at the Abramson Cancer Center at Penn Medicine, and I worked with mothers and fathers with babies in the NICU at Pennsylvania Hospital.  I have several years experience providing outpatient comprehensive psychological assessments to children, adolescents, and adults for presenting issues ranging from ADHD and eating disorders to personality psychopathology.  My experience with group psychotherapy includes adolescents in a school setting, adults diagnosed with cancer in various stages of treatment and recovery, as well as adults with serious mental illness in inpatient psychiatric hospitals.  I have five semesters of teaching experience as an instructor of psychology at the university level.  I have also presented my work at regional, national, and international professional conferences.
